It has nothing to do with ego, but then again everything has some amount of ego. Im not that person. this is my only fucking account. and its true im a brash asshole who doesnt take shit from people. all i ever wanted to was talk audio and make some friends, guess that was too much to ask.

The stock MCA SP1's sound really good as drum overheads. The designer of the Chameleon Labs tube SDC mics did a review on the MCA's in a TapeOp review and thought they were excellent. I'd hold off on the Jim Williams mod and use them straight from the blister pack for a while.

I tried them out on everything excpet electric guitar and bass. And the only thing I like them on at which I think they are exceptionally well is drum overheads.

Has anyone tried the Blue Ball mic ? A guy is selling one for $40 and I just told him I'd buy it. He says it's a condenser but I don't know shit about it otherwise.
