i don't know man, it seems i'm gonna hate everything. the novelty theory is hurting my feelings in the world of music.

then you're just setting yourself up for a self-fulfilling prophecy. if you think you're going to hate everything, then you are. simple as that.

it might help to say what kind of stuff you're looking for.

and about the Fall...

I'm a little chagrined to admit this, but there are some Fall albums I have that everyone considers classic that I have had serious trouble getting into. I think Room To Live is mostly a study in badly-recorded self-indulgence and I'm just not a huge fan of Perverted By Language yet.

Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

I'm 6/80ths the way to #1.

I hadn't really listened to Sonic Youth in years and recently listened to them non-stop for about two weeks.

This last week I've listened to the first Made Out Of Babies album so many times my neighbours probably know it off by heart.

Never really got The Fall. Then about a week ago I heard Repetition. I am starting to "get" The Fall.

I bought Hex and Nation's, tried listening to them once and again for a couple of years. Didn't like them. Had to download other albums later before I understood them, and I still don't really like Hex. No idea why anyone would recommend something other than Slates for a first Fall lp.

I don't recommend Slates for a first Fall album because Witch Trials was their first album.

Why don't people start at the beginning?
