On second thought, there's a bigger possibility that I'll just drive instead.

You're far more likely to die driving than on amtrak.
Don't let freak occurences cloud your logic.

Easy for you to say, the victim was a d00d.

What the fucking fuck?!

I did a Europe trip with a band a couple years ago that included taking a WWII train overnight from St. Petersburg to Moscow. 4 people to a cabin with 4 of us in one cabin (which stayed locked) and one of us (the guy with passports and money, of course) in a cabin with 3 strangers. He just kept one eye open and one hand on his bag all night.

What the fucking fuck?!

And why was the guy chosen to sleep in the strange cabin also chosen to hold the passports and money?

I take the Greyhound often in Canada, but I take short trips between coastal cities, not two indistinguishable prairie towns, so I should be alright. Living in Alberta would probably do that to you.

I can't imagine what this is like for the parents and friends of the guy, some dude going Highlander on him.

Just listen to music quietly, and don't close your eyes. Ever.

He chose to. It was his band, his tour.
