We don't have a lot of irreplaceable gear, but we do generally guard it fairly well. we always load our shit into hotel rooms and houses (except cabs)...fuck what anyone thinks. The night clerk at the Billings Motel 6 can just deal with it. 4 dudes, 5 heads, 5 guitars, drums, pedal cases, merch tub, backpacks and computer case all fit into any hotel room.

I'm sure they have a pack of roadies that should have either:
A) drawn straws to see who ends up sleeping in the van
B) get off their lazy asses and haul the high-value, difficult to replace items up to a room.
C) get the musicians to take responsibility for their expensive instruments.

There's some scummy elements in Montreal for sure. It appears some of them work in entertainment, probably tipping off thieves as to where the gear is, and scoring a piece of the pie when it's all said and done.
