One of the best I've ever read...seven times.
Should never be made into a movie.
Maybe a 12 part HBO mini-series.
Still, why not just read the book? They got it right the first time.

Comic: Watchmen
23I rate Watchmen way ahead of V for Vendetta, which I couldn't stand (hated the artwork) and just slightly behind From Hell, which is fantastic, deep and intricate in ways that Watchmen doesn't quite match, and From Hell's b/w pen and ink drawing is far more to my liking. (But fuck that awful movie of From Hell; I made it about 1/4 of the way through.)
I can't get excited about the Watchmen movie. What Watchmen did with the comic-book medium is a huge part of what made it great. I can't imagine it being half good as a film, no matter how faithful to the comic, how ingenious the effects, etc.
A snob friend refuses to read Watchmen because "it's about superheroes, and I don't like superhero comics." I've explained and explained, I don't either but it's a META-superhero comic and it DOESN'T SUCK, and you will NOT be sorry, and you will THANK me and wish you had read it years ago, to no avail. Idiot.
