The hairy centipedes always showed up en masse when it's warm, never had a gnat problem though.

Strangely though, I did have a gnat floating around in my place for a few hours yesterday.

The bengal cat LOVES when one appears, he never looks happier than when he's running around stalking one down. He'll knock everything in the house over, I hear shit just falling and crashing everywhere. I walk in and he's making his final leap up to grab it. He tears them apart and eats every piece.
