I am an accountant at a commodities trading firm just outside the loop (Chicago). I have no degree in accounting or desire to make this my life's work. In my free time I take care of my wife and spawn, draw, and party.

I manage a scanning electron microscopy facility (say that ten times fast
), teach undergad lab courses and I'm taking classes and working on research for my MS. I don't do much else, except post on threads every now and then in an effort to drive lively discussion into submission. I also play music sometimes.

I live in a sovereign nation that is actually my room and we(by we I mean me and a couple of stuffed animals) use cigarette butts as a means of payment. I have found this system to work very well here in Totally Awesome Super Spectacular Land (the name of said nation) but you fools that live in the U.S.A. don't accept our means of currency. BASTARDS!

I'm currently temping at a software company, working on cases- denying refunds, approving refunds, cancelling plans- fun shit like that. Pays good though. I've taken comfort with the fact that I'll probably be shuttled from temp job to temp job until I get a real-type lurnin' degree.
Otherwise, I've been spending time trying to scrape together gigs, find a band, and work on songs. The inspiration has been a little dry lately.

Yeah, the temp scene sucks the life right out of you. I'm seriously not motivated to make anything happen unless i'm overly busy with things that engage me. Sitting at a desk doing boring datajunk just doesn't do it, and my brain like switches off.

I am currently an administrative assistant in a PPO (network of MDs). I got tired of retail and I'm working towards an interest in systems administration.
By the way:

I'm a reference librarian by day (where I am right now) and by night I work at a bar a few nights a week where they have shows, taking cash at the door, picking up empties, etc. It's kind of like living in two different worlds.
After rent all my money goes into gas, buying records, buying gear, and my tiny little label. Needless to say I eat a lot of rice and beans.
