The thing with this show is that the episode last night might not be as bad when viewed in context with the rest of the season. Is it just me or did they skimp out on some footage at the beginning of it? I don't remember the father being on house arrest.

They explain that, off-screen between the first and second episodes, Michael had it arranged.

LAME.

And those British jokes were pathetic.

Charlize Theron is the new Ted McGinley!

The Brit thing is very odd and feels kind of thrown in for no reason other than to draw out George Sr.'s troubles in very odd directions. It is nice to see Dave Thomas on my television but I wasn't expecting him to be doing his Michael Caine/My Bloody Hand! routine. I'm guessing that these characters are not Brits but some form of "Honest John" Con Artists. I hope. Couldn't they get real Brits to play Britons?

Also nice to finally see George Sr.'s version of the Michael Chicken Dance.

This probably won't sound funny if you didn't see it, but I thought Dave Thomas portentiously holding up the "call me" sign when he pulls alongside Jason Bateman's car, and then spelling out the whole British phone exchange (first card: "011", second card: "44", etc.) was really inspired.

I've always suspected that this is one of those shows where commercials really fuck up the rhythm, and I bet it's much much better without them.

I can't shake the feeling that the David Cross character, although funny, doesn't really play to Cross' strengths, however.

David Cross has turned out to be a surprisingly great physical comedian. I'm thinking of when he was stalking around the lawyer's house or that awkward back-roll on stage when he was directing the play. Little moments of comedic genius.
