Definitively NOT CRAP! Jane Doe and his 11 minutes last song is a really good stuff.. Ok, the first time, it's a bit hard... But after, just pleasure... Their live gigs are amazing!

There's something almost Jesus Lizard-esque about the new record...

that stream of the new record is pretty dissappointing. it sounds a lot like the last record. i really wish they'd get a second guitarist again.

I really want to like Converge, but seeing them live finally cemented that I don't. Their singer's between song banter is ridiculous, and their bassist (I prefer his other band, Doomriders, anyway) was only playing his instrument about half the time, and spent the remainder of the set flailing around like a jackass.

Also, it should be mentioned that the members of ANB don't even like the Converge split.

I fell in love with Converge via their recordings (Jane Doe and You Fail Me) but their live shows are awful.

You're right about the singer. The way he speaks, the cadence, the affirmations, it's as if we're at a Christian rock concert. When I saw them, he apologized for playing two new songs because, "we know it's hard to dance and get crazy to songs you don't know yet."

I know the sound is always shitty at Webster Hall, but they sounded really quiet too.

And yes, their bassist is totally useless. Basically, I just like (love) Kurt Ballou. Oh, and the drummer is cool too.

Definitely one of the craziest and heaviest bands out there.
Just bone-crushing and truly amazing.
Add the fact that they are still going strong after 10+ years of playing together.
