Pod is the superior album. Last Splash is so often found in used CD bins that it rivals Blind Melon. I guess people bought it for "Cannonball" and then sold it when they didn't like the rest of the album. Now grade me on my use of italics / quotations.

Pod could win because of "Doe" alone. That's also one of my favourite reference tracks for judging the quality of hi-fi speakers. Britt's drumming is just perfect for that kind of song, and I find it hard to imagine another drummer suitable for it.

Amen to that. Britt would have got my vote President of the Big league for his efforts.

Pod gets my vote, at a time when I thought music was becoming stagnant along came this....

Question: For many years my friends and I have speculated as to whether or not that's Black Francis that does the "OH!" in "Happiness is a Warm Gun" . Can anyone confirm or deny?

Yes, and my vote goes to Pod. Ouch that's tasty.

I think it might be Britt, as he's credited w/ vocals

I've always wondered what all the chattering was behind 'Metal Man'

From the liner notes:

Backing vocals on 'Oh!': Michael Allen
Spanish Guitar on 'Metal Man' : Josephine Wiggs

ALSO: Shannon Doughton is credited for the drums on Pod. Britt Walford is nowhere in the liners.
