To whomever started this thread (too lazy to actually check): thank you.

Thank you so very much.

I bought Over the Sun a week ago and I have now listened to it, oh, I don't know, a dozen times.

At first I had a reaction similar to Mr. Albini's and maybe Mr. Brad W.'s reaction to Slint. I was actually a little embarassed for Ms. Wright. I was a little embarassed, like, "oh my, she sure seems earnest!" or "is she going to be okay? maybe she needs a hug or something."

About the third time through this just changed. Just complete 180 style changed.

I don't want to talk anymore about it. I don't want to ruin the feeling of finally buying a good album!

So, thanks!
You've made MI much brighter

Tipcat,

I hadn't really heard Ms. Wright, but reading your words gave me a feeling, like I wanted to be there with you. I understand what it's like to be the underdog.

However, I'm listening to the clips on the T&G website and I...don't hate this music. Not to say that I find it particularly compelling (although the pictures of her screaming are compelling enough), it's just not horrible to me. Perhaps, as others have said, live is the way to go.

Sorry.

Edit: if you feel like giving it another go-round, sample the tune "Black Little Stray" off the T&G site. It might be up your alley.
