1. You can't compare these earphones to other company's earphones, and

Someday there may be a standard for testing these things (someone makes a dummy head specifically for testing how things sound from inside an ear), but it's not there yet. So know what process was used to obtain these specs, & take them with a grain of salt.

I just recently picked up a pair of hd 570's, they sound pretty decent to me if you're looking for a full sized headphone. Though they aren't super efficient. When I was in Japan last year I picked up a pair of Panasonic headphones; the wraparound the ear kind. The cord recoils into the body making them super compact. I like them a lot for commuting.

What is the difference between the er-6's and the er-6i's? This graph tells me that the er-6's have a better response accuracy, yet the er-6i's are $10 more.

Should I go ahead and order the er-6's, or wait a week until the 6i's are in stock?

I use shure e3. I like them a lot.

I got custom molds made for them at Sensaphonics (here in Chicago) that make them even more wicked awesome (better bass - better isolation from ambient sound).

It is as you say. Buit the ER-6i's are trendy and white, so as to match your iPod.

I believe custom molds can also be made, probably by the same shop Bob mentioned, for both models as well as the ER-4's. I have never seen a need for this, but it sounds like an awfully handy feature if you want it. More info can obviously be found on the webpage but as I'm starting to sound like a salesman, I will stop there.
