Just drums for a solo project, plans are loose beyond that but most likely the remainder would be done from home. At the very least it'll be fun to hear drums in an awesome space!

I bought some dumb shit with my stimmy, volunteered, and worked in a grade school. Weird times.

Recorded 4 operas for video, got some health stuff taken care off, turned 40, put on a few pounds in the process. Spent way too much time on facebook / linkedin / okcupid.
Got schooled about Dante and AoIp networks in general while panicking about the future or live events sector and becoming semi-jobless eventually. Now I still don't know what I'm doing but people think I'm some senior audio something.

Got elbow deep into painting Warhammer miniatures again for the first time in... many years. And playing 40K as often as restrictions would allow.

I’m basically regressing

Got addicted to building pedals with circuits from PedalPCB. Maybe its the solder fumes that got me hooked.
Either way, stoked on some new skills and knowledge.

Also, gardening. Lots of it.

Bought records, and had lots of time actually sit and to listen to them.

Cleaned my garage over and over.

Got marginally better at fingerpicking. Cooked, a lot. Platinumed Death Stranding. Built some shelves and a TV stand. Binged a ton of TV, old, new or otherwise missed (Barry, Channel Zero, Raised By Wolves, the Disney Marvel shit, etc). Did a lot of home-schooling and housework whilst my wife was dealing with her mum's advancing dementia. Missed some funerals, a wedding, family, and people in general.

Holding-pattern stuff, basically.

Put out some more songs I made.



In November we moved the family to Ithaca, NY.

Also, I had started this just before the forum was down but have built up a nice side-gig doing drums for other folks remotely. I didn't love everything I worked on, but 90% of it was at least good experience, and it's awesome helping other people make their records. I've done about 115 jobs since June, and probably ~10 of them ended up being a whole record / album.

Working full time in a rats nest of dipshitery, 3rd tier netflix binging, pre curfew alley beers, one nervous breakdown, one lawsuit, facetime brunch-ing, 2023 vacation planning, etc & etc...

I'd say I got an MSW but I have finals week ahead of me yet.

Other things I did:

-Started an MSW program.
-Crashed on an easy chair in my best friend's basement for the duration of that MSW program.
-Learned motivational interviewing.
-Retrofitted my Flying V with P90s.
-Bought a cheap GFS Flying V body and neck to use up the surplus pickguard and electronics from the above conversion, painted it in a psychedelic autumn scheme with "FUCK WHITE SUPREMACY" written in big paint marker lettering on the back of the neck (I also redid the neck binding with nibs for +100000000000 toan).
-Completed thesis #2 because the comprehensive exam track required summer classes and I said "fuck that noise."
-Wrote my first grant as part of my field placement.
-Let my sister and her boyfriend move in. Originally, they were going to buy the place, but they've decided to move in with a friend. At least they got a chance to save up some money (and they also did a lot of work on the property, including fixing the shed and installing a fire pit!).
-Discovered a really great hobby shop in St. Paul that stocks all the geeky things I like.
-Learned a whole lot about the Title IV-E child welfare scholars program because I was assigned to the faculty member who is running it (I'm employed as a graduate assistant in the social work department).

EDIT: Oh, yeah! I discovered that Sunn 0))) is really great study music!

read a bunch of text messages one night from people who wanted me to know that there is a facebook group of people from this forum who decided to spend a few days talking about how i'm an asshole and possibly as bad as a sexual predator
quit my job
got a new job
got really into astronomy and astrology
