I listened to
Boces three times this past week. Weird, because back then I definitely preferred the Lips to Mercury Rev, but I've grown a much deeper appreciation for early Rev throughout my years, often preferring them to Lips freakouts.
Boces is bonkers. Bonks! I would stan a band featuring Jonathan Donahue and Ronald Jones.

I've been reading and sometimes posting on this forum since I think between 2006-2009. Absolutely astonishing to think that. I have contributed very little but also discovered so very much.
I think the biggest thing I ever received from this forum was feedtime sendspace files in like 2009. That changed a lot of things for me.

I've been here between 10-15 years now approx, I'm not sure since the other one went down exactly. Came here initially off the back of being obsessed with Shellac and stayed. I often noticed there's so many like-minded people here for me, that it's kind of like a bunch of work colleagues I really wish I had, as the banter would always be so good! So I'm here to chat with and support work colleagues that I don't work with, but wish I did. I've not been to any BBQ things yet to meet real people with faces.

Here since 04 or something. Used to post under the name Japmn but when the board came back I couldn't remember my password and it was tied to an email that no longer exists. New Forum, New Name!

I've been lurking around this joint for 10-15 years, not sure how I discovered it. I never enlisted because I didn't think I had a lot to say (I'm not much of a joiner either). However, during COVID I signed up to a couple of music forums out of sheer boredom and (mostly) enjoyed the experience. So then I had to WAIT and wait for the PRF to get rolling again ... and here I am. Its a great and unique community. I was kind of scared it was gone forever.
I know several bands who have recorded at EA and all have high praise.

Wait, are you not Dr. Tony Ballz of Balls Effects? I'm confused.
I joined maybe in early / mid 2000s, I think I found this place from a post on the old Tape Op Message Board (TOMB.) I realized soon after that I knew a poster or 2 IRL and started coming back more often, spending more time.

I think I started lurking here around late 04ish, started posted in 05, but really jumped in after the Touch & Go 25th Anniversary shows.
Highlights over the years: learning about a ton of cool music, seeing bands start here and develop, getting into a fight and my bloody fist became an avatar, live updating my date with a celebrity and other dating stories, PRFers happened to be at The Beat Kitchen before my first date with my now wife (I always viewed that as a good sign), also at our second date of My Disco and Young Widows, lots of fun gear talk (I learned so much about amps and shit here), oh, and FM Tim gave me a TV once.
Nowadays I kinda hang in the tech area mostly, always a student, always learning.

Joined in May 2005 if I recall. Lurked for a month to get the lay of the land and was absolutely intimidated by the clever and brilliant minds posting. Eventually dove in and have been hanging around ever since.

Joined around july 2003, I probably already browsed the site eventually back then (it predates the forum, right?) as it's an interesting resource, and initially joined looking more for the tech advice side of things, stayed for the cultural aspect, never stopped using it.

I am not. I am Tony BallZ of Tucson. I wasn't aware there was another on this board, what's the protocol here? I can change my username if necessary to avoid further confusion. I've been saddled with this nickname since 1993 or so.
Some years ago, there was another Tony BallZ in Arizona who unfortunately died of an asthma attack. I have asthma as well, and several of my friends were freaking out for a while.
