When my current band started playing, the bass player insisted I solo in a song. As an act of protest, I hammered out the squeakiest, squealiest, most incomprehensible bullshit solo. He went for it, so now I do "squealies" in about half of our songs.

NC for providing me with inspiration to solo, and the occasional "WHAT THE FUCK" from someone in the audience when I rip in.

Are those pinch harmonics during the chorus of “Breadcrumb Trail”? Or are they regular harmonics like during the verses but with distortion?

I've never managed to incorporate them into anything useful, although they are obviously great fun. Even more fun with a locking to trem which is a bad sign usually

Pretty sure all of Slint's harmonics are natural harmonics that sound the way they do thanks to a combination of distortion and deft finger placement. The ones on "Breadcrumb Trail" (in my dumb, limited experience) are technically pretty easy to play but really hard to get right.

I'd buy that it was what is in red.

Also sounds a lot like the natural harmonics/Boss Heavy Metal combo that turns up from time to time in Godflesh.
