It’s a little bizarre.

The two songs by The Smiths mentioned above are the ones that I’m reminded of. Those songs are what they are at this point and it doesn’t bother me.

As this is mainly a studio trick, a relevant and related question: what did these bands do when playing these songs live?

The Smiths "That Joke isn't Funny Anymore"

I feel like this song can stand on its own at 5 minutes without needing the fake fade out. Still a great tune and fun to play drums to. Also, Mike Joyce: underrated, but that's for another thread I think.
