Hamid continues to be one of the most inspirational players out there, regardless of instrument.

This record by Peter Brötzmann and Heather Leigh from a few years back is getting some pretty consistent listens these days.

Washing machine is a perfectly valid solo instrument as well

When I’ve checked out Mary Halvorson in the past, it never clicked with me. (Maybe I hadn’t heard the right stuff?) But Amaryllis is fucking amazing. The whole record slays, and the title track is especially good.

Yeah.. I too appreciate Halvorson as a technician, but much of that music falls under Zappa-like to my ear. This album sounds promising.
