What, is he the Russell Crowe of comedy?

(A friend of mine has some limited history playing drums for Russell back in his "Russ Le Roq" phase when he was trying to make it as a New Romantic singer. Would you be surprised to hear he was egotistical, unreasonable, blamed other people for his failings and soon turned nasty?)

While I recall having enjoyed other of his stand-up shows, SuperNature feels like a lecture.

I'm fairly sure in one of the previous stand-up things he referred to it as a lecture.

Lots of good points have been made here, and plenty in the comments under that Limmy video - but I can't bring myself to slag him off. We all have blind spots. He must be in mine

A friend of mine who was a die-hard Gervais head changed her mind and labeled him a "self-righteous cunt" or something very similar after he put out this photo.

I guess I was never interested enough to follow his career. I liked The Office enough that I watched The Invention of Lying and it ends there aside from that really (funnily) painful to watch clip from Extras where Bowie destroys him. I'm aware of his "attack helicopter" schtick and that's enough to tarnish all of that for me.
