Anyone have files of this album? Would love to have them...chexmixbreath wrote: Fri Aug 26, 2022 2:23 pm
Graham Sutton of Bark Psychosis released a dark, highly technical DnB album 'Balance of the Force' in 1997 that was years ahead of its time:
Boymerang - "Mind Control"
Boymerang - "You Like It Like That"

22I think I have them knocking about. I'll check next time I'm on the laptop.

25I am also really loving those Boymerang tracks. I read about them at the time, but never got round to listening to them until now. Cracking, smoky stuff.

27A Guy Called Gerald has most of his stuff on bandcamp now: the Peel Sessions, 28 Gun Bad Boy and Black Secret Technology are critical.

28Glad you folks like Boymerang, I can only owe my own discovery of him from having A LOT of time on my hands during the first 2020 lockdown when I dove deep into a bunch of 90's DnB/jungle/breakbeat stuff (among many other genres).
Seconded for A Guy Called Gerald.dfglv wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 8:30 am A Guy Called Gerald has most of his stuff on bandcamp now: the Peel Sessions, 28 Gun Bad Boy and Black Secret Technology are critical.

29Thirded, salut! I hadn’t listened to “Black Secret Technology” since the ‘90s, when it didn’t work for me. Loving it today. Reminds me of Kraftwerk in how it resolutely builds its own emotional world in sound, personality bleeding through. This led me on an internet ramble that took me to his remix of CAN’s Tango Whiskeyman:chexmixbreath wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 6:43 pmSeconded for A Guy Called Gerald.dfglv wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 8:30 am A Guy Called Gerald has most of his stuff on bandcamp now: the Peel Sessions, 28 Gun Bad Boy and Black Secret Technology are critical.

30Genaside II from the 90's made an album called Ad Finite. It's really good. The Prodigy sampled them I think.
