sounds like he needs your bassman pedalDr Tony Balls wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 7:39 am It sounds like what you want here is the ability to run just the preamp of your bassman out to a power amp, without running any of the power section? If its not a super precious pristine amp you could always modify the second speaker jack to be a switched jack that disconnects the preamp from the power amp and gives you a preamp out signal. Like a "slave out" on some older amps.
Or you could find yourself an Alembic F-2B, but that's more than a load box.

22Well, that would be an option. Could also just do a tube bassman preamp in a small box, similar to these:TylerDeadPine wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:05 amsounds like he needs your bassman pedalDr Tony Balls wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 7:39 am It sounds like what you want here is the ability to run just the preamp of your bassman out to a power amp, without running any of the power section? 23Yeah, I had the Alembic for a bit, and couldn't get it to sound as good as my Bassman head. Figure trying to load box w/ a line out would be at least worth it to hear how it sounds w/ the line out going to a power amp. Saw a former forum member on IG do something similar w/ a 60 watt Sunn head so they could get more volume for bass live.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 7:39 am It sounds like what you want here is the ability to run just the preamp of your bassman out to a power amp, without running any of the power section? 24which Bassman head do you have? some are of a different circuit than what's in the Alembic.

25I do this but I run my head (AIMS vtb-120) into one cab, and then I run a gK400 into the other cab. run the preamp of the AIMS into the GK power amp intallchris wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 3:10 pmYeah, I had the Alembic for a bit, and couldn't get it to sound as good as my Bassman head. 26AA864, pretty much just use the normal channel (and the bass channel was modded to a JTM45-ish thing a while back).Dr Tony Balls wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 4:11 pmwhich Bassman head do you have? some are of a different circuit than what's in the Alembic.

27Ahh interesting. They ought to be about the same in the preamp, though the Alembic uses bigger bypass caps for a bit more bass. Of course, thats only part of the picture and the phase inversion and output colors the sound as well.tallchris wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 4:57 pmAA864, pretty much just use the normal channel (and the bass channel was modded to a JTM45-ish thing a while back).Dr Tony Balls wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 4:11 pmwhich Bassman head do you have? some are of a different circuit than what's in the Alembic.

28I need a real deal 100% Paranoid Android phaser.
Not like the wild solo but the softly swirly guitar parts.
I used to have a Small Stone that did it but there are so many things out now I don’t know where to start

29My favorite Phaser I ever had was an old Ross Phase Distortion pedal. Really close to the MXR Phase 90 (and the MXR Distortion +) but was a little more gentle. Sounded great. Only Phase I have now is a Phase 90 from the 90s. It's fine. I really want to try the Warm Audio Jet Phaser, and it is half price right now.llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Mon Nov 28, 2022 8:50 pm I need a real deal 100% Paranoid Android phaser.

Cocteau Twins?
Because it really feels like I saw a video where something random just about nailed it, and now it's bugging me.
