The food is excellent, but I feel like an old man when I say that the music and atmosphere was too loud for an afternoon meal. I mean, it was LOUD. The space is tiny, and there was a bit of a wait to get seated. And the music was LOUD.
I'm so tired of LOUD music in restaurants. I won't return to one of those places. Bars too. Let me have a fucking conversation that doesn't require exclamation points after EVERY FUCKING SENTENCE!

I would like to try bone marrow for the first time. I presume the best way to consume it would to be seated at a restaurant, but does it travel well? Any decent recommendations? Please and thank you.

I'm no expert but will give a shout-out to the taqueria I ate at prior to attending last year's PRFBBQ:
http://www.eltaconazjr.com/ (at Fullerton & Kildare)
I'm guessing that this is not the absolute best taqueria in Chicago, but their food made me very happy.

Make it at home. You can get beef marrow bones at most butcher shops. Salt and pepper, put them under the broiler (marrow side up) till they're nice and brown. Spread it on some good crusty toasted bread.

Had a double smash burger from Moonlighter the other night. Best burger I've had in a while. Can't really attest to how trendy it is, but since they're a faction of Scofflaw I'd have to assume just a little bit.

Tasty soul, creole-inspired food from Cleo's Southern Cuisine in the Loop at Lake & Wells. Normally spice/heat will keep me from trying something, but I couldn't resist a chicken thigh topped with mac & cheese and drizzled with a hot honey sauce.
The chicken & catfish was the best I had in a long time. Made to order so if you're looking for a quick bite at lunch allow yourself some time

In a quest for legit-enough Chinese noodles that I’ve missed, I’ve been hitting “Xi’an Cuisine” in Chinatown on Cermak. Biang Biang noodles are the play. Thick, wide, chewy. You know it’s a good sign when the boss seems constantly annoyed from the first sentence. They’re good, but there’s a much larger unrelated spot by the same name I went to over Chinese New Year. That’s on Jackson. I like those better! Scope it if you’re ever around.

The best fries.
The fries at Joey G's Mac & Cheese are bussin! Killer tuna - I say, killer tuna panini as well. Yum.

Superkhana on Diversey continues to knock it out of the park. Lots of seasonal rotation on the menu, though there are a few consistent staples. Definitely has my favorite non-french fry potato option in the city, great noodle dishes, etc. Really can't go wrong there these days!
