Come to think of it, Kiss also popped up on the old-forum thread about metal bands going grunge.

Did Kiss ever do a skinny-tie, keyboard-y new wave song? Because then they’d have the hat trick.
They did a whole garbage album of New Wave jams.

This is absolutely true.

That reggae song just sounds like a slowed-down version of "We Go Together" from Grease.

Good lord. So Kiss win the worst hat trick.

I had no idea Unmasked sounded like that.

I like that this was on the same record as The Electrician

Honestly it's easier to list bands that didn't go disco, everybody seemed to have at least one half-hearted abomination ready to go.
I love thinking about Scott Walker already exploring deep in the labyrinth of the darkest reaches of the human psyche being like "Yeah man! We're doing everyone's song. Put some handclaps on this thing so people will dance!"

I don't know if that's exactly the reality, but it's how I understand the spirit of this album.

Worth noting that it is a KISS record in the same way that All Shook Down is a The Replacements record.

True, and maybe even less so. Paul Westerberg at least wrote all the songs on All Shook Down.

Then again, I believe Kiss relied on session players quite a lot. And Alive is about as “live” as Katy Lied is.

I keep seeing this thread and think “If Reagan Played Disco”.
