Thanks. Ordered some little tension gauges.
Luckily these Teac machines were so common there is a ton of info on the webs about them. Seems like they break too, so people know a lot about fixing them. It's been fun. Going to do some All analog 4 track projects once I get the 4 ch going. Found some less expensive (than MRL) test tape suppliers too so I might try to get one. Not really sure what to balance one of these consumer decks at, I've only ever aligned an Otari MX5050 and MTR90 and an MCI JH16... and that was in like 20+ years ago. Not sure what calibration of tape is even recommended for a machine that was built to play back recordings of Mustang Sally from AM radio. Doesn't really matter, its all just a for fun distraction from doing real work.
