Haven't been drinking much lately but it's been a fucking week (some high points as well as the obvious CRAP) and I'm making myself a damn cocktail this evening.

Depending on the rye, you could go with Boulevardier through summer. Pick a high rye content "grassy" rye, and with lower alcohol, in place of something like Rittenhouse, which is dark and rich with lots of corn in the mash, and 50% abv IIRC.

It’s still a little early in the day atm but my jam lately has been pineapple soda and mezcal. Jarritos is great. Fanta works too.

That sounds excellent, I might just add a squeeze from a lime wedge to acidify a little. Mexican sodas and mezcal is a severely under-appreciated way to drink.
