There are countless Nirvana lyrics that I've misheard.
When Nevermind came out, I thought "Territorial Pissings" was "Gotta find a wife, a fat old wife, when I'm there...."
Misheard Lyrics
22then there's The Misfits...usually when you mishear the words of a song it's the mistake that's odd and funny...but when it comes to ol' Glenn Danzig it's when you find out what the lyrics actually are that your jaw drops and your eyes bulge in disbelief...and then you start laughing "what the fuck!?"

23man, this is just like that segment MTV did years ago... to date it, the then-current song with misheard lyrics was RHCP's "give it away", with the funniest line being "bob marley, dog rollin' in a bucket"
they also had the "girl with colitis goes by" line in that segment.
my favorite would have to be Fugazi's "Waiting Room", where i still to this day hear the line "i don't sit idly by" as "hello johnny boy", even though i've seen the lyrics written and all that. i believe that i am mistaken on that one.
i still haven't found anyone who'll agree with me that in the lyrics on the Metallica song "...And Justice For All", one of the pre-choruses has the line "i can't believe you the things you say" as opposed to "i can't believe the things you say" as the others are sung. the written lyrics tell me i'm wrong, but my ears tell me otherwise.

This is so true.
For your reading pleasure, here is a list of all the Misfits' lyrics
Enjoy, or I'll rip your skull out...
Glenn Danzig wrote:DEVILOCK
--------
So make this demon offering
Best demon offering
Curious about the eye of death, oh
Gonna make it public
Gonna make you pay
Gonna rip your skull out
Eye of death, I know
Devilock, you rip your heart, I have 'em
Devilock, I rip your eyes out of hell
Hell is pumping something
Into lots of people
Curious about the eye of death, oh
Gonna make it public
Gonna make you pay
Gonna rip your skull out
Eye of death, I have them
Devilock, you rip your heart, I have 'em
Devilock, I rip your heart out of hell
Oh
Devilock, I rip your heart out, I have 'em
Devilock, I pluck your eyes out, I have 'em
Devilock, I rip your heart out of hell
Go, go, go, go, go
Why yes, I am curious about the "eye of death"!

25I was just "jamming" with my 8 year old cousin who thought the bob seger "old time rock and roll" lyric was "in ten minutes i'll be licking the floor."
Here is a little video of us jamming on a song she wrote:

i thought the same thing 'til i was about 18.
As a second-grader in 1977, this was very encouraging advice.

I think this is my favorite example of the above:

Well, what is he saying? I can only hear "In ten minutes I'll be late for the door," but that doesn't make sense.
... I Googled it, and apparently it is "late for the door". Wtf?! You wouldn't want to be late for the door, I guess. I'm sure somebody can explain it to me.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.

I think this is in the sense of "doors open at 8." You don't want to miss the doors opening.
Nor would you want to miss the Doors opening, if you were Bob. He was a huge Morrison fan.

30Isn't he saying that if you take me to that fucking disco, in 10 minutes I'll be late for the door out?
But just to continue the 1970s business, I suddenly remember that around that same time I heard Little River Band's "Reminiscing," and I heard the lines as "That's the way it began/We were hand and hand and Miller Band was better than before" and assumed it was the Steve Miller Band he was singing about.
