Kim Gordon. Deal has a better voice but Gordon has substantially more good to great music behind her.

But Kim Gordon has taken way more risks and, at her best ("Brother James," "Brave Men Run," "Shadow of a Doubt," etc.), is a whole lot more interesting, despite her pretenses and my love of Pod. Hell, I'll even throw in how hilarious the Ciccone Youth "Addicted to Love" cover and video is. My vote goes to '80s Gordon.
