I think you just gave me a reason to support walter's interest in buying one of these things.

thanks for that spoot. i think i might be sometimes too protective of my children. you’ve made many good points although, i don’t think i’ll be getting a hybird. before the h3 came up i was thinking about a new volvo station wagon which are supposedly very sturdy. maybe this weekend i can get out and test drive some stuff.

walter, you're clearly trolling here.

that being said, the H2 is just a chevy Tahoe. the H3 is a chevy TrailBlazer.

those are both retardedly crappy vehicles.

if you really want the safety, get a Subaru Forrester or Outback wagon.

if you want something similar to the H3 but a million times better, get a Toyota 4Runner.

and enough with the trolling already!

The great thing about children is that if you lose one, it's really easy to make a replacement.

Get the bike!

I dislike Hummers for this reason...

They took a perfectly good word for blowjobs and made it refer to dumb-assed, small-dicked guys with something to prove and the bank accounts to do it.

That is a terrible, terrible thing. GIVE ME MY BLOWJOB WORD BACK!

There was a very interesting interview on NPR a year ago about Hummers. They were talking to a consultant for Hummer who talked about their marketing ideas. It is basically marketed to big, self-centered Americans who want to give the big fuck-you finger to one and all and want to make it LOUD and CLEAR that they could not give a rats ass about the war, the environment, gas prices, or other fellow living things on this earth. It is not only the 'ME' vehicle, it is the "CHECK ME OUT" vehicle as well... or the "I NEED YOUR ATTENTION TO HAVE A SENSE OF WORTH" vehicle. Sad to say the campaign worked oh too well and continues to do so. Of course it was like shooting fish in a barrel... Just like our president, if you market to idiots, you will reap the lion's share of the market as they are all around us.

Walter, I think Billy drives one. Makes sense.

i test drove a h3 this weekend. pretty cool. even though it is smaller than the h2 it’s still too much car for my wife. she felt uncomfortable in it. i have to say, compared to other suv’s in this price range, the h3 is incredibly well built and seems to be a lot more bang for your buck. next weekend: checking out volvo’s and the soccer mom vehicle of choice, mini-vans.

i take it the Honda Pilot is too much for her as well?

Volvos are fine vehicles, though sorta pricey.

the Subaru Forrester is maybe a slightly "cooler" option than the, gulp, minivan.

i use to like hummers. in the 80s/early 90s i'd see them at the gunshow all the time (my dad always had a table i'd work at/sleep underneath)... they would usually only have one on site, and it was like ten thousand feet wide, exceedingly ugly, and just all around impressive as a labor vehicle.

seeing them in the streets now... or consumable versions of'm, is pretty ridiculous. but if we're talking in terms of emissions / pollutants... you can't hate on one car without hating on them all. guaranteed my crappy old taurus is probably as bad if not worse (in terms of exhaust, and probably even gas guzzling) than your average h2-h3. i mean i get that if you can afford a new car you should probably go the way of more economical, but until the government/car dealerships start giving insanely good deals on hybrids with an any-car trade in... i don't think only a certain percentage of regular people should be responsible for the despoiling of our earth.

do this! do this! fuck off, you do it. and unplug yr fridge while yr at it.

i'd hated hummers until i happened to be driving next to one in southern california, some years past, and it was piloted by none other than the immoratal fabio. what better role model to look to for an example?
