that one song from the 80's is pretty killer, the one with the chick singing slightly debbie harryish? everybody knows what i'm talking about, right? that one's like, a given. the motels? or the somethings, i forget what they were.
my favorite might be "Twas the night before christmas on Sesame Street" from the oldschool Sesame Street christmas album, the one where they substitute bert for the christmas tree in their play, where the cover of the album is bert being decorated and stuff? best christmas album ever. follows typical sesame street form and has two songs in spanish. anyway, their version of "Twas the night before christmas" is probably one of the oldest rap songs I can think of, certainly the first one I ever heard, back in the 70's. and it's got a pretty dope jazz bassline.
dig it!

22My favorite X-mas song is either "Here Comes Santa's Pussy" by The Frogs or "Christmas at Ground Zero" by "Weird Al" Yankovic.

The animated TV special that featured song number two gave me nightmares.

25that's the one! we all know that one, right?
seeing Weird Al get a nod just reminded me of two Dr Demento standouts... a song called "Christmas is revolting, and so are the elves", where the elves have had it with christmas or something... and that drunken fool singing "i'm a christmas tree! i'm a christmas treeee! everybody hangs their ornaments on meee!!!!" man that was good stuff.

26Bummed Out Christmas is the only Xmas album that even approaches the brilliance of the Low Xmas EP. The song "Christmas in Jail" alone is worth the purchase price.

I love that Low Christmas record very much.
I also dig "Christmas in Hollis" by Run DMC. It's a classic.

Good stuff. Senior year in high school when the Greendale Marching Band played in Florida, I played Wildman Fischer on the bus. I made friends and enemies, and changed lives forever.

30I like Stop The Cavalry by Jonah Lewie.
But I too think that Fairytale Of New York is the best one.
What has surprised me about this thread is that nobody has mentioned the Phil Spector Christmas album. That's brilliant.
