Was Charles Simic there when you were? Any other writers?

Simic is at UNH, but he read at UMASS while I was there. My teachers included James Tate, Carolyn Forche, and Dara Wier. John Edgar Wideman taught at UMASS then, but I never took a class with him. Shot ball with him though. His knees were all tore up, but he still had a sweet hook shot.

Hell, Incorporated; Leni Lenape and Mohegan offices. No degree -- never made it past Entered Apprentice.

(I went to "Hartford Art School", or "The Sinking 'H'" as we liked to call it -- fuckin' graphic designers. Last stop on the "Jersey 500" speedway that was the main road around the University of Hartford campus at the time -- I think it's a dead-end now.)

"That is the most obnoxious fucking thing I've ever seen in my entire life."

- Chris "The Hawk" Horton, while looking at an acrylic Indian light show while Depends undergarments were being filled with piss and shit as a tithe to the Skinwalker -- Foxwoods, Nineteen-Ninety-Somthin.

I attended Southern Illinois University (1999-2003) @ Carbondale, IL and majored in Electrical Engineering Technology.

I now work as an Engineer at Underwriters Labatories (more popular seen as the mark "UL" on various electronics products) in their alternative energy division.

but the rock is where my heart is...

Hey Turnbullac and Dregs, I am considering both of your respective concentrations at Columbia. Are there any specific experiences, advice, recommendations, warnings you could offer? There are a few old threads here regarding this topic, but there aren't many personal experiences shared other than it's a popular school.
