Between Electropura, And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out, & Prisoners of Love... Yo La Tengo has carved a niche and made a huge impression on rock music. It's undeniable, even if you don't really dig the sound or whatever.

i once saw them play some dorm at Harvard. It was just a big room, no stage, no lights, just a pa for vocals, which kept breaking, I think. Ira was pissed off, so they played a 35 minute version of "don't tread on me" and stormed out.. it was mighty impressive. and georgia sat down. as she has at most of the other gigs i have seen... best use of a fender twin and a vintage strat ever.

i love these guys. best quiet/intense band ever. its a superlative morning.
