I used to tell my mum I was catching the bus to school and pocket the money so I could buy a record or a book at the end of the week.
My schoolboy economy was outgrown by the fact that I got roundly mocked for walking home in a storm after spending my bus fare on a really big pretzel.

There is an elementary school a block south, a high school 2 blocks west, and a middle school 3 blocks easy of my house. I see this every school day.
