phpBB [media]Our Wild LifeSo this trash is apparently going on a few mile from where I'm staying (and where I grew up). The whole thing is quite the event for folks around here. The family owns or is closely related to the owners of the local BBQ catering business (decent but too salty). My kid brother said he got some pretty good weed off one of the daughters. This has some good samples of the local accent. No one here seems to understand that TLC wanting to do a show about about you isn't exactly a compliment.

Oh yeah for sure.I'm not even sure what the genre signifiers are exactly. The way the reverb is used? The ukulele and banjo? The dance beats? The ridiculous way of singing that's popular at the moment? The fact that it's all been Pro Tooled down to its individual constituent molecules?Something, something about the pop music of right now just sounds so unmistakably of this time. What do they call it? Is it "Millenial pop"? I don't know. But a lot of bands sound like it.

I've seen this as a meme, but I didn't know it was an actual song. This has been out for over a year and it still hasn't been posted here?phpBB [media]

Anthony Flack wrote:^ That's just what average music sounds like at the moment. That is the sound of "now". Ten years from "now", a new generation of kids will hate this because it sounds so millennial. And in another ten years everybody will love it (including the people who used to hate it) because it's "nostalgia".

Pretty sure they're being funny on purpose and have converted all that ironic appreciation into stacks of loot.Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel still tour New Zealand regularly. He has family here I think. To this day it's still unlikely I would go a week without hearing Forever Now being played somewhere.
