I borrowed a 1312 pedal for a couple months and absolutely loved it. Might be THEE boutique Rat.

Poppin' in to say I have a 1312 and it rules. The Arc Effects Soothsayer is the best RAT I've ever used (tons more headroom at 9v) but there isn't much in the RAT space the 1312 can't do.

On-topic and in the spirit of the thread, the 1981 Inventions DRV. Hate it. Of course I have one, bought at peak hype in 2018 because I am a Colossal Sucker. It's perfectly good (cusp of great, but doesn't play super well with others) RAT-ish pedal but oh boy, this Christian rock guitarist who does not design or build his own circuits (this one was a Bondi joint, I think, and his new one is a collaboration with EAE, incidentally a dude/company I respect a ton) milked the hype-train/ultra-limited-edition/"new colourway just dropped"/everything-that's-wrong-with-the-guitar-pedal-scene thing with a single circuit for five full years. Hate it hate it.

The JHS with the approximately same feature set is $249, no? I see value in saving $60 and not sending any of your money to god-botherers who want to torture and kill gay people in Africa.

Absolutely agreed, and I've never even played through one! After seeing it super hyped for a few years, I was surprised to find out that it's just a Rat but built with a low gain setting. Like, that's it?!?!?! That's the only pedal a company has been selling for 5 years, and then the "rare" color variants go for stupid money on Reverb?!?!?!
