Elvis was the first live show I remember seeing. I was in 3rd grade at the time and I went with my Mom and my brother. The show was at Wings Stadium, in Kalamazoo, MI. We needed binoculars in order to see anything. He died a month later. I still have the program from that show, plus now I have my Mom's entire Elvis collection, on vinyl.

Then there was Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, and The Police.

My first unchaperoned show had to be RUSH, the Moving Pictures Tour, when I was in high school.

You were in 3rd grade when Elvis died in 1977, and in high school when Moving Pictures came out in 1981?

A-Ha at the NEC sometime in the '80s which was bizzarly followed by Cliff Richard (not the same gig btw).

Unchaperoned (by a responsible adult) was Paul Weller. I was 12 or 13 and my Metallica loving family friend Dominic (18) was with me and I got pissed on cider and threw it all up at home in a nice long trail around my bed, along the hall and finally into the toilet.

Things have got better with time.

I hate the pre-teen BS that is emoticons.

They need to make a musicmanticon for you.
That would rule.
Next, the Morley guy.
A whole series of zeitgeist-icons, bell bottoms and all.

My first show was Cheap Trick, Greenville NC.
I was 9 or maybe 10.
Second, Blue Oyster Cult.
Third Rush.

Two outta three ain't bad, right?

My first show where a parent wasn't involved was REO Speedwagon at the Rockford Metro Centre in 81-82 on the Hi-Infidelity tour (when they started going all radio...)

The show sold out in a couple hours, and only the New Kids beat that record in the era before legitimized broker/scalpers or the web.
(I passed on the NKASC show)

My aunt ran a day care, and one of here "mom's" was this smokin' 19 year old smokin' hot, unwed mother type.

For my birthday, my Aunt bought me a ticket, and also bought a ticket for this nice girl and 2 of her awesomely easy girlfriends to coerce her to chaperone me.

I saw more boobs that day than anytime in the following 5-6 years at least. I also had my first sexual type experience in the car on the ride home.

This girl's hot 18-19 year old friends were smoking their last Js acquired at the parking deck for flashing some random guys in a van... The one riding in our car decided to jump in the back seat and show me her tits along with her white panties and fuzz-covered axe wound and see if I would get a stiffy.

I was 10...

I wholeheartedly recommend going to your first show ever with horny and easy 18-19 yr old girls when you are in 5th grade.
