I hope Italy don't go any further.
I thought they were crap last night night. Fouling, falling over, begging the ref... bastards.
It's the first game so far that has made stand up and yell at the TV.
I don't like the Italian team any more.

2012I believe Domenech didn't shake hands with the ref at the end of the game. I think he asked his players not to do so too.

2013It would be a surprise if Italy beat Spain in the quarter final. Italy have no centre forward (hello, Luca Toni) and without Pirlo they'll have a hard working but limited midfield.
Of course, this is dependant on Spain turning up and playing properly.
The farking Dutch are the team to beat though - they have confidence, momentum and some really, really good players. Even Robben occasionally looks like he can be arsed.

I don't like this Domenech. The players seemed to achieve despite of him at the last world cup, rather than because of anything he managed to impart to them.
Maybe that's just an outsiders view. How much of the French public liked him as a coach?

2015Henry should be ashamed of himself. He pussed out big time with that free kick.
Definite penalty in the first place. He should have let Toni shoot, fucker dragged everything to the left and wide anyway.
I put my money on the Italians to go through but in all honesty I would have preferred the French. C'est la vie.
Is anyone here unlucky enough to have Toni on their FF team?

Toni may not be able to hit a barn door with a banjo's arse but he has a great nuisance factor.
He won Italy the penalty and got the sending off which set the Italians up last night. The Spanish side is not particularly tall which will suit him.
Spain also like to play at a certain rhythm. No team is better than Italy at mixing/breaking things up.
Whatever my heart says, my brain sees a pragmatic Italian win.

Exactly.
The Spanish defense is dodgy but he is having a howler of a tournament. I genuinely think he would have missed that penalty chance.
The Italians shouldn't be underestimated but for the sake of the tournament and good football I hope the Spanish slaughter them. Viva Espana!

2020Just saw the highlights of Spain v Greece - did anyone take Alonso for their fantasy team? Three real close misses there.
Russia looked really good against Sweden, but then, they were playing Sweden. Still, warming to that side.
Here are the standings in the Premier Rock League at the end of the group stage:
Trust me people, I am as surprised as you are.
