Yes and yes. I recall one of the Polish know-it-all in the quali games (Boniek, for Italians in here) saying something in along the lines of "oh, and this fellow.. he.. you know.. <coughs>.. he know how it's done" in the middle of one of quali games. Such a shame he is out of the tournament. I don't really care about the teams. But that dude? He rules.

My neighbourhood has gone mental. My cycle back from the bar was slightly ropey (fireworks, crazy cars and roving clumps of happy people moving unpredictably). Someone brought a horn into the bar and I fear that I am now deaf. That lovely feeling of one's eardrums moving far too far.
I feel sorry for the Croats. Whilst neighbourhood loyality had me rooting for Turkey, I thought that Croatia deserved the win. But you could see they were going to lose the shoot-out: they were destroyed by that goal.

Totally. Turkey was just trying to hang on.. but they did pretty good in the last minutes. Still, no way they last goal was deserved! But this is football! And again yes: Croatia was so lost after that goal. Penalty shoot-out was never going their way.

I have to admit that I am slightly worried about the upcoming Germany v. Turkey game. Everyone seems quite cheerful, but you can be too cheerful sometimes. Particularly with cars and fireworks.
