Other than that, there is or was a band in Boston called Hip Tanaka, who were friends with friends of mine, and who thus played a lot of shows. Awful... like a bunch of retarded monkeys.

There was a band called "The Beers" back in St. Louis...mid-90's. They were appallingly inept, and absolutely dedicated to slogging through their stuff. I've posted about them in the 'so bad it's good' thread, because everything that sucked so ferociously about them ended up being the selling point on me actually liking them. To date, I've never heard a band with such an obvious vocal focus backing up a singer so absolutely incapable of holding a single note so relentlessly. I would have thrown it off as a hip joke, but when I went to see them play live, our group had to find a place to sit on the side...as the place was chock full of parents and relatives (this was at the only 'punk rock' club downtown at the time), who were obviously feeling a bit out of place.
