Paulaner Hefe-Weizen

Fuzzbob, have you tried many Weissbiers? Just out of curiosity, because Paulaner's not one of my favourites. I quite like it, but I think I prefer most of the others I've tried - Erdinger, Franziskaner, Schneider Weisse, Maisel Weisse and especially the godly Weihenstephaner.

Dave - my cousin lives 200 metres from the Weihenstephaner brewery in Freising....

Have you ever been to that cinema in Cardiff that has a bar that has a fridge rammed full to the brim with different weissbiers? I played a show there once, I swear they had at least twenty different types. It was awesome.

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.

Voted the Best Place to Drink in Wales in the Observer Food Magazine, our award-winning bar has an excellent range of continental beers, real ale and spirits.

"Unfeasibly large selection of drinks - the world in a glass" Big Issue Cymru

Chapter bar is now open from 1pm on Thursdays and Fridays, so if you fancy a glass of something to accompany lunch or are looking for somewhere to start the weekend just that little bit earlier then look no further! It's the perfect place for some pre- or post-show refreshments or to let your hair down with one of our unrivalled selection of imported beers, real ale, spirits and fruit juices.

Don’t let our award-winning selection of beers daunt you. If you’re not sure where to start our friendly bar staff will be happy to point you in the right direction, or why not try one of the following, as recommended by Dave, our Bar Manager:

Beer of the Month: Warsteiner, 4.8%ABV

A firm Chapter favourite, this pilsner style beer has a smooth, full-bodied taste and a refreshing hop finish. Warsteiner is brewed using the local Warstein forest Spring Water, a blend of German hops and two-row malted Summer Barley. As they say in Warstein, "Life is too short to drink cheap beer".

From the fridge: Augustiner Maximator, 7.5%ABV

Maximator is a huge beer, sticky in consistency, ark ruby in colour with copper tones, strong malt and hop nose. A lovely double bock with lots of gusto!

"Five ales on tap is not uncommon, plus superb continental lagers and dozens of wacky bottles. Service is fantastic - probably the best bar staff in Cardiff." www.teaandbiscuits.co.uk

For the smokers among you we have a covered, outdoor, smoking area on the patio leading out from our café and ashtrays are available at both our north and south entrances.

"Get intellectually merry in one of Cardiff’s finest bars…a great place to people watch." Ministry Magazine
