Half an hour ago I picked up an early 60s Harmony lap steel, DeArmond pickup. $80 from a dude on Craigslist. It's the version with the chrome ashtray instead of the big black Harmony branded one. Just like this;

It also has an AP&M Co. brass slide nut fitted over the plastic one. It's a beauty. Just a little of the copper paint flaking off at the butt end. Can't wait to hear how it sounds!
That's rad. Congrats. Livestream that shit

Ha! Thanks. My wife plays lap steel. She shreds. I'm excited for her to try it. She currently plays a mid 60s Airline that I got at a thrift store in Aurora for $50 bucks like 20 years ago. I guess I have good luck with lap steels.

I really can't stand the 'boooow' pitchy effect, which is theoretically supposed to go away if the bottom head is tuned tighter than the top. But I often still hear it, and often add a little tape to the bottom head to minimize it without over deadening.
That always drove me kind of nuts as well. I started getting much better results putting a coated single-ply on the resonant side, then following my normal tuning protocol (resonant head tuned consonant to batter, or up a third, depending on what worked better for the situation).
Good idea! I don't know why I stubbornly persist with clear 10mils on the bottoms of floor toms.

Went yesterday to what appeared to be a music gear flea market, but was mostly an estate sale with just one guy's massive collection.
Walked away with:
– Roland D10 synth w/ case
– No-name/homemade 1x15 guitar cab, loaded although I need to crack it open to see what the speaker is
– Peavey Audition Chorus—who doesn't need a 2x6 combo
– two Premier rack toms, UK-made, kind of ugly psychedelic wrap but tagged as $10 for the pair (these were not part of the estate sale but belonged to the hosting venue—as I was picking them up to examine them the main venue guy rushed over to shout "those belonged to Mac DeMarco!")

$320 altogether!

Mosky ISO 10
Half the threads on line say it's truly isolated, the other half say no.
Only $40 from an eBay seller - now Mr.Multimeter and I can find out for ourselves!

2010 Fender Strat
Sometimes late at night when I'm laying in bed I lowball people on reverb like a jackass, fully expecting to have my offer declined.
While this wasn't the lowest of balls; I woke up this morning and surprise, they accepted.
Whoops! I have too many guitars!
DIY and die anyway.
