Hmmm... I've seen quite a lot of that kind of behavior, somewhere...

Rick Reuben wrote:Until these blowhard faux opponents of religion learn to recognize other mythologies that are staring them in the face every day and then develop the spine to go after them...

Those "other mythologies" you speak of... what might those be?

Rick Reuben wrote:I'll keep laughing at them as they puff their chests out and 'dress down' God believers. They pick safe battles and then they fight them very loudly.

Well that's quite an ironic statement.

Okay. Are you part of 'everyone'? Detail money and power on Earth. Start from the top and work down. It should be easy for you. Use scientific method. Expose the lies of capitalism as ruthlessly as you expose the lies of intelligent design.

What? You think I would not include myself when I put 'everyone' in big capital letters? Am I not adequately taking up the mantle of the bat? Let's demand bigger and better things from science and then piss all over those people who make our lives easier when they decide to voice their opinion, bravo!

All I know about you is what I read on the board. Sorry to say, but I have no idea who or what you are politically. If you've made numerous posts to the political threads, I don't remember them. We can start here:

What are the biggest threats to America's economic prosperity?

What are your proposed solutions?

That will help me get a read on your ideology.

This way Rick will know if you should be added to his enemies/traitors list. It's just more convenient for him if you let him know upfront.

So who are these "sellout liberals" ? And who are the "fascist atheists"?

Are these organized groups of people who deliberately swear their faith to common, prescribed ethics or dogmas?

If not, then how do you know that they all subscribe to a common belief regarding the economic predicament of the USA and the world?

And if they didn't have faith in the US monetary system, then what alternative would they have?

What do you use for currency? In what form of currency is your paycheck rendered? What do you exchange for the necessities of life like food, shelter and utility services, if you're not relying on US currency?

And if you are still trading with US currency despite all your claims of its worthlessness and tyrannical origins, how are you any better than these sellout liberals you keep railing against? Do you really think you're so superior, just because you have the huevos grandes to type angry words on a rock music Internet forum?

Who is the one puffing his chest around here, feeding his own ego by insulting and alienating his fellow forum members, making a big show of 'fighting battles', when all he's really doing is sitting at home, trolling on the Internet?

The biggest threats? I would count people's overwhelming ignorance to be the number one problem, the economy is sinking and what do we care about? Who got kicked off on Dancing With the Stars last night! I am generalizing, and can't help but feel this is the kind of thing that can be disregarded as youthful idealism most commonly reserved for high-schoolers entering their first year of college. The second thing would probably be our mutual friend: The Federal Reserve. The monumentally boring economics class I took in high school started off slightly interesting when the teacher made the following declaration: "the President is not the most powerful man in this country, the chairman of the Federal Reserve is."

I have no proposed solution because I am more interested in doing dumb shit like, help the poor, and cure sick people in whatever dump of a country I can get into, rather than fuss over America's bloated sense of self.

Edit: My political ideology shouldn't even be an issue, whether I am a democrat, republican, libertarian, whig, federalist, whatever won't change the fact that I hardly find it fascist that some scientists are voicing their disbelief and proselytizing just like a pastor or preacher from any other religion, which is openly tolerated and accepted as free speech.

Will someone please define "atheists" as it has to do per this discussion? Or at the very least agree on one definition that suits it.

Rick defines them as "sell-out liberal facists." Newberry and others define them as someone lacking a belief in a god. Other have offered no definition.

There is no discussion here if all sides are arguing over something that is not clearly defined.
