You mean the best singer ever?
I have to second this. Creston Spiers' vocals are so perfect for Harvey Milk's music that someone would need to invent them if they didn't exist — 16rpm primal yowl, emotionally naked, simultaneously vulnerable and hyper-masculine. Makes me think of what Richard Meltzer described as "full mammalian presence" — TOTAL HUMAN APPROACH to the microphone. Also incredibly sharp and literary.

I'm not criticizing FM tommy's cow-tipping, BTW. You like what you like.
I prefer "nitwit"

i will fight you.

love HM, hate Frank.

So yeah, Frank Zappa sucks. So does Steely Dan, as if they haven't ever been mentioned in this thread or its predecessor.
I should clarify. Nothing in the vocals reminds me of Zappa. Think Shut Up and Play Your Guitar, but metal noise rock with terrible vocals added.
i like the vocals on Harvey Milk songs. also like Pissed Jeans.

Isis (the band) made some cool sounding records, but their choice of naming songs and albums after philosophical treatises while having self-admittedly unprintable crappy lyrics is the definition of pretentious.

While I'm at it, as much as I love Christie Front Drive their nonsense lyrics were totally lazy.

Oh yeah and pink album Sunny Day Real Estate stream of consciousness babble was also disappointing.

Writing lyrics is hard, but if you're going to sing words you should work at it.
