yes, i was thinking that what i need is a really good / boutique-y overdrive pedal.
maybe i can order it online or make a friend send it to me. it's not that hard. it's easier to take a pedal from the usa than a big-ass amp

my setup right now
squier strat (korea) + electro harmonix big muff pi usa, mxr blue box, boss turbo overdrive + squier practice amp

I'm thinking in getting either a electro harmonix smallstone or some kind of delay. Anyone selling any those?

suggestion: there are lot of good pedal makers in buenos aires, i tried some brilliant rat copies, and they also make phasers and delays. search for them.

alex, that was extremely kind from you. i'll keep searching. i saw a zakk wylde ovedrive going thru ebay for 40$, maybe that one. but i would like to try a bunch here first.
also, i'm about to move (on my own, for the first time!) so i need to buy kitchen, fridge, chairs, tables.. all that stuff. so i'm saving for that for a month or two.

I have heard many tales of the prowess of the Hot Cake, but I have never heard one. Can you point me to something with it?

i heard malkmus uses it mostly as his distortion box in his latest albums. not 100% sure tough.
