Given that the premise was interesting, just that it had been approached with a little more thought, and a little more backbone. It's always frustrating when a decent idea is plucked off the vine far too early.

Thief (1981) - What a bunch of garbled, smashed together nonsense. Two word review. Wait. What?! CRAAAAAAAAP

I had the same response. Couldn’t finish it. No idea why it has received so much acclaim.

Why do people like Michael Mann? Heat is, at best, just okay.

Well, I think your only other recourse is Manhunter, which is hailed a masterpiece by a small and fervent following....I remember Mohicans as ok...

The Insider is a very good film, and atypical of what you'd expect from Michael Mann.

In addition to (part of) Thief, I’ve seen Manhunter, Collateral, Heat, and The Insider. The Insider was probably the best of the bunch, and Manhunter was well cast. I can’t say I loved any of them. Most of them are fine.

I do kind of want to see The Keep, though.

Exactly what I thought it would be, which wasn't a bad thing.
Surprised me, liked it more than I expected to.

Haven’t watched that one in a while. Sounds like a good time to do so again. It *never* disappoints.

Saw The Handmaiden by the guy who made Old Boy. It received glowing reviews, but it seemed like a pretty tired bit of triple-cross intrigue dressed up in the glossiest kind of sexy lesbian stuff and a dash of torture porn for good measure. A B-Picture with polish. Not worth the time spent.
