Yeah, if you're cool with the price, it's a great grab and go pedal. Cool folks at Strymon. Amp modeling at the most modern level, and a bit of room ambience, and available today, AFAIK.TylerDeadPine wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 10:28 am No-nonsense easy to use modeler+cab sim: Anything better than the Irridium? I like it a lot and was going to buy one for my spouse to use in-hospital to play on headphones and record on laptop, my spouse who would rather just play and write vs. dink around in menus. It's just buy the Irridium right?
If you're concerned about price, I still like the SansAmp stuff (though no headphone jack). Classic, GT2, etc.
POD 2.0s can be had for less than $100 used and have no menus or anything. they are a bit bulky and require a specific power supply.
Feel free to ignore this. The HX Stomp is a bit menu-y, but it can also act as a USB audio interface. A super-small recording rig can be based around the Stomp.. I've done it. But yeah, probably a bit more setup time. I'm biased, but I want to present the option. Like I said, feel free to ignore.
Best wishes!
