I can upload this, or you can get the good shit, which would either be their unofficial 'Live At Last' release from 1973, or their original demos. they'd be one big file, though as I 've been really slack about breaking them down into separate tracks.

PC for work, mac at home. Whatever you dig up is great. You rule, Nina.

We did a thread on ripping vinyl to mp3 and other formats over here. If you have specific questions, PM me, and I'll help you out. It's really pretty simple.

cheers.

Honestly, I'd rather have the strait digital copy if I'm going to have MP3. Most vinyl cuts into the PC just sounds like vinyl cut to digital tracks. Sometimes sound quality suffers. I'd rather have a nice digital version. I have nice ear-phones at work.

Ahh, okay. You may want to be wary of some of my uploads then! You have been forewarned. (although a bit late in the game, but...)

Superior, sleepkid!

Your name is quite misleading, as you prove that you are much more awake and on top of things than I!

Ta for that! =)

First. get a audio recording program (i.e. Peak, Cubase, Garage band.) for the MAC. All mac's now come with Garage band.

Now take your amplifier output ( which your turntable should be hooked up too!)

Run a cable (most likely 1/4", 1/8", or RCA to your mac into the MIC 1/8" input. These components are readily available at your local Radio Shack for under $15 bucks.

Clean your records! use some D4 cleaning solution.

You might have to configure where the audio is coming from in the Mac (via preferences) Select audio in or some such shit!

Hit record on the program. Drop the needle on the record and the drum beat goes like this...

If you need any further instruction feel free to PM me or any of the fine people posting in this thread.

If you're not going to help. Just shut the fuck up. This is just you upping you goddamn post count. Really sick of it.

Colonel Panic wrote:Tuolumne, it's because all those albums are available commercially and very easy to find through conventional channels. This thread was not created for the purpose of pirating readily available material. Rather, it is about sharing rare, out-of-print, limited editions or other hard to find items.

This entire BBS forum is hosted, operated and paid for at the expense of the Electrical Audio studio, and to bring any trouble--legal or otherwise--down upon EA for copyright infringement or piracy would be an unfair abuse of our privileges using this service.

I don't mean to sound condescending or anything. Just wanted to state it as explicitly as possible.

I'm sure Tuolumne is already aware of this. He already owns the albums on vinyl. He's already gone out and spent money on them. Ozzy, Geezer, Tommy, and Bill aren't going to suffer if he has a digital copy of the analog albums he already owns. But really, rather than argue with you over whether a person who owns the analog version of a piece of music is also entitled to the digital version as well, I'm just going to be rude and abusive and tell you again that if you're not going to help, then shut up.

You're right. To bring trouble on EA would be terrible. However, the people who run EA are all big boys, and if they feel something needs moderating, they will step in and moderate it.

...and you do sound condescending. So again, you know what to do.

Wow, big thanks to all you people for the advice, and glynnis for the impromptu clinic. I can be a little dim with these sorts of things. Sounds pretty straightforward, tho.

Dude, why don't you quit worrying about me and my post count and mind your own business?

I never said that he shouldn't digitize the vinyl tracks, or that nobody should help him out, I just said that that stuff shouldn't be posted up here. If somebody wants to PM those records to him, whatever.

I didn't recognize Tolumne's name in here, and since it's generally common knowledge around here that we don't post popular commercial releases, I (perhaps wrongly) assumed that he was unaware of that unwritten rule.

no, i don't mind it. i just don't ask for it specifically. and sometimes, it's unavoidable. honestly, most everyone puts great stuff up on this thread, stuff i wouldn't have listened to otherwise. so i'm grateful, no matter what the quality is. if i really like it, i go out and buy it!
