Finally, after four years, the OTHER Das Damen fan reveals himself.

Salut to you, sir. We are a small population.

Ha! Salut to you too.

Yeah, I don't remember having spoken to anyone else who've even heard of this band. Pretty sad. Glad I've helped make you feel a little less alone in the world.

Thanks!

Try Podiobooks.com. A spot where youngerish authors post podcasts of their recitations of their own new books. Initial delivery of a new book is roughly a chapter or two per week, a la a podcast, but once the first run is done you can download the whole set of podcasts.

I've only done this once - found out about it via Boing Boing/ Cory Doctrow, and used it to download his audio read of his newest novel Eastern Standard Tribe. Which was very good, I would recommend it, and I will be purchasing it when next I see it.

Also, there is no charge but they do accept (and should promptly receive) donations.

Libraries are also swell.

Ok. Ok. I'll confess that I saw Das Damen live with Screaming Trees and King Missile, and that I own Mousetrap and Triskaidekaphobe (which I had forgotten I had) on vinyl. I also liked Cell quite a bit because David Motamed was in them, and they were good.

That's actually not such a bad idea. It keeps everybody happy and out of trouble.

Oh, and I think we were in a couple of the same Anthropology classes several years ago. Small world. Do you still work at a record store?

Psyclones ~ Between Spaces

Recorded live November 23, 1984, Between Spaces is fun ride into the world of one of Brian Ladd and Julie Frith's projects, Psyclones. Electronic manipulation of voices, elements of Foetus' maniacal-classical style, early Severed Heads, Husker Du, and even Zoviet France are all evident at different stages of their evolution.
Good stuff.

I unfortunately do not work at the record store anymore....I have moved to a job that is nowhere near as cool but which allows me to buy more records so it is a bit of a trade off...

I am assuming the classes were at KSU?
