You are not alone. I had all my shit scanned (fine). I know of many others and one bypass surgery so far as a result.

rather battling with my head at the moment, but in between all that i began to figure out three songs i've wanted to be able to play on guitar forever: 'all downhill from', 'therefore i am', and 'last year' by jim o'rourke. i often heard a sort of drony aspect to the guitar parts but never really thought seriously about retuning. turns out the insignificance songs are super straightforward to play in open D with a capo, 'last year' (after some time with the footage of him playing it in japan) seems to be in dropped-D.

these songs mean a huge amount to me from intense times in my life. i stood there holding my guitar at lunchtime yesterday feeling so grateful that i can kind of play an instrument.
