You are not alone. I had all my shit scanned (fine). I know of many others and one bypass surgery so far as a result.
Did you go through with the MRI?
Yes! Went fine…boring results which were welcomed

rather battling with my head at the moment, but in between all that i began to figure out three songs i've wanted to be able to play on guitar forever: 'all downhill from', 'therefore i am', and 'last year' by jim o'rourke. i often heard a sort of drony aspect to the guitar parts but never really thought seriously about retuning. turns out the insignificance songs are super straightforward to play in open D with a capo, 'last year' (after some time with the footage of him playing it in japan) seems to be in dropped-D.

these songs mean a huge amount to me from intense times in my life. i stood there holding my guitar at lunchtime yesterday feeling so grateful that i can kind of play an instrument.

+1 for heart health, still the #1 killer. I recently went on mild blood pressure meds (and reduced salt/caffeine), as mine had been creeping up. Happy to chat about this here on in a PM with anyone else dealing with that. Also am keeping an eye on my lipids too, which hopefully can be managed by some dietary changes. The last time I went to the doc, I slept weird and I think had a muscle pull in my chest. I did mention that as a "pain in chest", so they did the electrode thing (all good there).

I'm not a huge fan about discussing my health on an open forum, but I'm way less of a fan of people I know/like/communicate with passing away suddenly and I think openness is key.

Why this isn't an annual prescribed routine checkup for middle-aged and older folks (like getting cameras stuck up our asses) is beyond me.
