Got the record today. Good album. Me like. It's Shellac.

...however, I'm not so sure that the Verizon slogan was such a catch phrase that it could be turned on it's head like that.

...but then again, I've been out of the country for quite some time, so I never really heard all those commercials with the guy walking around going "can you hear me now?" (which I always thought was dumb, because it implies the spot he just left was having reception trouble, and his mobile was a piece of garbage.)

I'm still not sure that I'm convinced that this record isn't some sort of ruse. The record plays as if they recorded it at a sleepover. -Less effort was definitely put into writing for this record. That, or they've lost their "cool." I feel like this is a test, for those that praise this record are not "true SHELLAC fans" and all the real ones are smirking behind their tea-cups. One thing I do know is that my expectations for SHELLAC have drastically changed.

Similar thing happened to me. I told my friend, who is a Shellac fan but who doesn't really keep up with them...i.e., talk about them constantly on the EA forums...but anyways...he goes and gets it, listens to it, and reports back to me through email.
