248In the mid '60s my dad converted the basement in our '20s brick standard-Chicago house into a cool Family Room. Cut a hole in the dining room for a staircase, built a little bar in the corner, outfitted it with rattan furniture, bought a Color Tee-Vee and put it into a recess in the wall. I wish I had that room.
